Week 2

Hey everyone!

What a great start to the year. The children are very settled and are adjusting to the new rules and routines amazingly! They are loving swimming and the art that we have been doing over the week.

HOME LEARNING:
This week we really get into the routines. Tonight i sent home home learning - spelling words in the spelling note book (feel free to cover these if you please- or we are going to at school). There is a home reading book for you to record your child's reading. Super Rocket Words (some children have changed levels as they have forgotten some words over the holiday break).

Please note that this week and next week I will be testing the children and establishing what level they are working at so the books may not be quite right (a little easy or hard).

Next week they will bring home their maths "A Race to the Treasure Cards".

Elmer Elephant
- Today we talked about how we are all different, special and unique. We used a range of art medium (collage, dye, pastel and sponge/paint) to create a piece of 'Elmer Elephant art'.

Watch Elmer Elephant
We are learning about sound e and the numeral 6

Thanks SO much for your offers to parent help!

Don't forget you can e-mail me cat@sjb.school.nz if there is any thing you would like to discuss (as mornings can be very hectic this can be the best way to catch me and then we can make a time to meet up)
